Pastor Justin has been a part of our faith family at Pawhuska’s First Baptist Church since September 2018. He is married to Ashley and they have two wonderful children, Quaid and Clara-Mae. Here is some insight from Pastor Justin:
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY YOUR LIFE VERSE IS?
Since I was a teenager and really started to own my faith, John 3:30 has been a big verse in my life. It says, “He must increase, I must decrease. He must become greater and I must become less.” The “He” is this passage is Jesus. I want my life to be about making Jesus greater than anything else and that means realizing I’m no where near the most important person in my life.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT BEING A PASTOR?
I love encouraging and loving people from all different backgrounds and ages to grow in their personal relationships with Jesus and their relationships with each other. It blows me away how Jesus connects so many people with a singular focus that otherwise would be simply acquaintances or strangers.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
I don’t get a lot of spare time, but I love spending time with my family. I have an amazing wife and the greatest kids. We’re not this picture perfect, everything is all in order all the time family. We’re just a real family going through real life. They put so many smiles on my face, it doesn’t seem fair sometimes. Outside of family time, I like to play golf if I get the chance. I also like to play guitar and sing. Sometimes if I catch a spare moment, I’ll have a little Jesus Jam session in the office when no one is around.
READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
I recently finished up “Orthodoxy” by G.K. Chesterton. It was written long before I was born, yet the circumstances and issues that Chesterton masterfully address are very real and relevant to what we are facing as a society today. The more things change the more they stay the same, and the answer to it all is a life that built upon the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a fascinating read. I highly recommend it.
